JOB Summary
The NDS Operations Manager will have strategic business and economic development acumen, thoughtful leadership on advancing business growth, professional and engaging communications style, solid experience in digital oilfield technology, and ability to provide hands-on leadership to a cross-functional team within the upstream service industry. This role will collaborate constantly with the Field Services, Product Development, Marketing and Sales to develop compelling, differentiated value propositions, and use innovate story-telling to bring the message to life for our customers.
The candidate will be responsible for the development and overall operations of all SmartROS automation solutions and RigCLOUD for our customers in MENA Geo-Market. This role involves leading projects from inception to completion including deploying automation solutions, interfacing with customers, and providing continuous technical support both internally and externally.
Additionally, the role encompasses Geo-Market overseeing of one or more NDS product lines. This includes engaging with customers, collaborating with various teams such as NDIL, Canrig, RigCLOUD, RIGLINE 24/7, and Nabors training groups, and ensuring that NDS provides maximum value to our customers. The candidate will also provide technical mentorship in drilling dynamics and analysis, use standards for analysis templates, and oversee the quality of analysis and reports.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performance Products Operations
o Manage group operations to ensure adequate field coverage as required by ongoing activity on Nabors and non-Nabors rigs.
o Project lead on commissioning and rig deployments on RTXT, SmartROS and RigCLOUD jobs
o Coordinate activities for service trials and startups with all functions involved (Customer, Product Line, Drilling Operations, Training, Field Service, etc.).
o Work closely with location and Sales organization to understand needs and opportunities for NDS technologies while keeping close communication with central Product Line.
o Provide technical mentoring to engineers through in-depth knowledge of the drilling process and drilling dynamics.
o Follow recommended analysis, reporting and presentation standards and adapt to local needs. Contribute to the development of performance metrics, tools and methodologies.
o Engage with customer in well planning and drilling performance discussions to highlight opportunities and identify challenges to success.
o Track and report active job and trial activity. Work with all required functions in the organization to ensure adequate staffing, resources and support for current operations; anticipate future needs for the same in close collaborations with locations.
o The strategic leadership, growth, financial performance and effective management of all the locations NDS business
o Guide the implementation and growth of the Customer Success Management team to drive the adoption of NDS products, when applicable.
o Direct the Service Delivery & Operations support organization responsible for the systems, process and technologies used by the field operations teams, including asset tracking and inventory.
o Monitor Demand x Supply and follow finance AFE procedures.
o This position will report to the Geo-Market management and will lead both Performance Products and RigCLOUD support team.
- Customer loyalty
o Build strong relationships with customers based on thorough understanding of drilling challenges/solutions and the application of NDS technologies.
o Support the differentiation of the Nabors offering by working closely with customers to become an integral part of their processes to measure and improve performance.
- Sales Support
o Work with Sales to implement effective processes to support the sales process including sales calls, customer visits, technical discussions, product presentations and product training.
o Identify, validate and qualify opportunities for application of NDS technologies.
- Product Development
Provide input for product planning to Engineering and Development groups based on field observations and customer feedback captured through team interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of the drilling process and the mechanics/physics involved.
- Strong analytical skills; Demonstrated ability to develop analysis spreadsheets and reports.
- Effective verbal and written communicator.
- 10-15 years of experience in drilling operations and drilling performance roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Electrical).
- 5 years of experience in drilling operations and drilling performance roles.
Essential SKILLS / physical requirements / working conditions
- Occasional travel is required as business needs dictate (approx. 25% of time)
